This is taken out of Lies - A Diary 1986-1999 by Ned Rorem.
...the grammatical anecdote from the demanding child:
"I want to be read to."
"What book do you want to be read out of?" (He tells her, but she inadvertently bring the wrong volume.)
"Why did you bring me that book to be read to out of from for?"
