I Would Like to Present...
So I submitted an abstract for a presentation to the West Coast Conference of Music Theory and Analysis 2004. It's happening end of April at UCSB. Where do I go? UCSB. Right. Did the reviewers pretty much know that I wrote the paper? At least half of them did. Could they have reasons for choosing a student from their own department? I wondyes. Sooo...did I get accepted?

*sheepishly*yes.

That's a Good Thing (TM). But of course, now I have to follow up the extravagant claims I made in the abstract with a real presentation. The paper I'm basing the presentation on is 40 pages so far without the material I need to add. So it'll turn out to be somethin glike a 50 page paper. But then I've got to reduce it down to 12-15 pages for a 30 minute presentation. I also want to play my own examples on the piano so I've got to learn parts of the piece. I said this was a good thing right?

I'd point you to a web site all proud-like but, well, there is no website. Not yet anyway. I'd like to fix that but we'll see...

wow luke, you're the bomb. I submitted my paper, "a Theory of why my auction midterm suck: I suck at math" today. I don't know if will be accepted, i suspect not as it is not original enough.

I am the bomb? No, I think my presentation may turn out to be a bomb. Oh well. Can't back down now since I'm already committed.
