So I can finally point to a website that represents the conference at which I am going to be presenting my Ligeti paper: wccmta.org. That stands for West Coast Conference of Music Theory and Analysis (2004). I wonder who designed that site... I mean, he sure took some initiative.

One more thought for people who play (or have played) piano: ever been in a room with two pianos (where your teacher is playing one and you're playing the other)? Do you ever involuntarily press down the pedal when your teacher is playing? Do you ever notice the rich amount of resonance one sounding board can get next to the other? Don't you think somebody should write a piece where that's part of it? Or even better, use the middle pedal to great effect by creating some sort of pedal harmony... I feel like the next thing I need to say is "well, now with the piano pedaler 2000, you can do all this and more (including making dried apple slices) for only 3 easy installments of $19.allyourmoney!!!"
