Super Cucas
Name: Super Cucas (I think).

Location: Somewhere on MichelTorrena near downtown SB.

Type of food: Hole in the wall Mexican

Price Range: $5-$8 for a big hunk o' food.

I'm not exactly a Mexican food connosieur so I don't know how this would rate on a true Mexican taster's scale. But out of the dozen or so Mexican places I've been to, this is definitely one of the better (Antonio's in LA comes to mind too with their excellent chocolate mole sauce, this I know thanks to Annemarie). I got a super plate combo (grilled veggies, carne asada, beans, rice, other stuff I forget, with some corn tortillas). I thoroughly enjoyed my portion, which was HUGE. One friend got a ginormous thing of nachos, equally good, and I finished off the left overs of another friends super combo. Definitely a place to go to if you're looking for some stomach filling down to earth Mexican. A boon to college students like me who value quantity as well.
