So I've been using gmail for about about 5-6 weeks now (THANKS BRYANT!) and 12MB of mail has accumulated. At this rate (let's say 2MB/week), the estimate is still only 104MB per year, leaving me with about 9-10 years of e-mail storage spce. Not bad still. The interface is very well designed and speed wise it's almost as fast as outlook for me. Faster in some instances. The only problem remains with detecting conversations. It seems that gmail logs conversations by matching subject titles. However, this is a problem when my dad's e-mail replies are always "Re:" or when I send out two different e-mails title "Room for Rent" and both come back under the same conversation. Otherwise, it's been fantabulous.
A lot of people want to get in on gmail and after using it for a month or so, it's understandable. I love it. People want it so much, in fact, that there's an entire site devoted to swapping gmail invites for items (favors, prayers, whatever) at gmailswap.com. I've got 2 invites left and although free stuff (or auctioning it off for cash through ebay) is tempting, it doesn't sit right with me morally, ethically, or somethin'. So anyone of my friends want a gmail invite before I ditch my morals and go trade it in for sexual favors?
***UPDATE***: No more invites left! Gave the 2 I had to people who are improving the net. "Worthy" candidates if any judgment can be made about that sort of thing.
