With much guilt, I decided to jump on a good deal on the Sony DSC-F717. I've had an old P1 for a while now and either because of lens dirtiness or other reasons, I've never been able to get good pictures with it easily (it always blurs). And even the good images I get need to be heavily photoshopped. Add to that a newfound respect for photography and a desire to know what I'm shooting, and well, F717!
Been taking test shots to get to know the camera and the above is a shot approved by Paul Ma. A shot of the front of my car parked on the street at night (very low light). Taken with auto focus (laser hologram AF), a 30 second exposure, F2.0, ISO100, and automatic white balance.
I love this camera so far. Definitely one of the best bang for the buck if you're looking for a an entry level prosumer. Comes with a big and fast lens, 5x optical zoom, a hot shoe for external flashes, a decent amount of features, and a very stable tripod mount point. The swivel lens/body also make shooting over head and really low shots very easy. Fun!

Same camera that I have. It is just a pain that the thing is so big and awkward.

Amen. But so far, I'm forgiving its big and awkward ness because of its swivel ability. That and most other prosumer level cameras with nice big lenses tend to be pretty bulky too...
