Stupidity is a Lifestyle too?
Not much access to net and since I don't have the pictures postable yet, no holiday cheer for you! Not yet anyway. Instead here's another drop in the bucket:

Bush is being stupid again and trying to ban homosexuality

OK, no that's not fair, he's only trying to ban anything which "depicts homosexuality in a positive way." Specifically, he doesn't want to encourage this "alternate lifestyle." I think that offends me more than bush's views itself. Passing judgement on people is bad enough but that stance about an alternate lifestyle assumes, a priori, that what he is describing IS a lifestyle. Wouldn't be so bad if there weren't plenty of people who are going to contradict him who LIVE in that "lifestyle". It's akin to the common psychological joke about someone in denial: if they agree, then it must be true and if they deny it, well gosh darn it they're in denial.

Bush's initiative, then, is to me sickening, illogical, and unethical. Assigning a difference to a group of people (despite their protestations) amounts to a different form of racism. Sure people of a homosexual orientation are different than people of a heterosexual orientation but saying that it is an alternate lifestyle erases the possiblity of homosexuality. "Oh that's not a car, it's just an alternate dog. And what a horrible dog it is! We must not promote cars as an alternate to dogs." And if homosexuality is merely an alternate lifestyle of the heterosexual (are we going to count the metrosexuals as alternate too, Mr. President?) then I say stupidity is just as much an alternate life style of intelligence. Why don't we promote the abolition of anything which portrays stupidity in a positive light? (Think "Swim Fan" or better "The President of the United State of America on this date whose last name, in case you were wondering, is Bush") Because if we did, we would have to abolish this very notion itself for its inconsistency and stupidity. Who would seriously affirm that those who might be deemed "stupid" by any authority choose to do so? And do we have a department of inteligence making such decisions? Until such a nightmarish world comes to pass, and I hope it never will, I would much rather have a homosexual as a president than I would a clinically certified idiot as a president.

I love you. And I love not being american (no offense).
I think Bush is afraid of being gay which reflects on his homophobia. I still don't get how he got re-elected.
