I live in Isla Vista, CA, which is not known for its quiet surroundings and peaceful contemplative atmosphere. There's a litote for you. Were it not for the surprisingly sound proof windows, I would have moved out of my current university-owned apartments long ago. The noise is often in the form of music, but also just as often in the form of obnoxious screams and yells. Thank god the window keeps most of those sounds out, as well as the pornstar in 207 who seems to be having a lot of fun (either that or practicing for a porndition coming up soon) morning, afternoon, night, and at 4:30AM...and I'm in 117 diagonally across the L-shaped complex from her.

I can't do anything about the noise from the frats and sororities outside ("If you can't get some elsewhere, 'try delt'") but I have only a flimsy not-so-sound-proof door as my defense when the attacks come from within. Random screams and yells. And they are really really retarded. Let me be all media like and show you on the retardometer of screams and yells:

So the long and short of it is that I'm sick of the all too stereotypical retarded frat [wannabe] boys in my current complex. My lease ends mid June and I am hauling ass out of here beginning of June. I don't care that I have to pay a bit more to the slumlords of Isla Vista (IV is famous for that) to have my peace and quiet. And I don't like earplugs. So there.
